Community Group Listing Standards The purpose of the community group listing is to encourage the discussion and dissemination of the ideas of Ayn Rand and to enable individuals who realize the value of these ideas to meet others who share their view. NationWeb will not list groups who support alternate philosophies purporting to be Objectivism (e.g. Libertarians or associates of the Institute of Objectivist Studies)**. If your group does not support the philosophy of Objectivism as advocated by Ayn Rand, please do not list your group in this directory. If you know of a group listed in the Nationweb directory who is in violation of this agreement, please notify us at objectivism@nationweb.com. In no case, does NationWeb guarantee that it will provide these resources to any or every group or individual. ** There are people who are familiar with Ayn Rand's ideas and call themselves Objectivists but are not really Objectivists. These people pick and choose convenient pieces of Miss Rand's philosophy and try to integrate it with their own irrational ideas. However, It is not possible to accept only some of Miss Rand's philosophy and be completely logical and consistent. Objectivism is an integrated system of ideas. If part of the system is left out, it can no longer function properly in helping you lead a proper and happy life. If these people represent their flawed ideas as Objectivism, they may severely damage the possibility for others to discover the true philosophy. For this reason, I believe that it is a serious moral issue that I avoid supporting such groups. |
